I am a jewelry designer/metal-smith. I work with gold, sterling, fine silver, copper and brass, as well as glass enamels which allows me the freedom to use color in my work. I cut and polish the semi-precious stones I use, designing settings that complement and enhance their natural beauty. Including artwork through the process of etching metal satisfies my love of sketching subjects from nature. Every piece is one-of-a-kind, hand made by me, using raw materials.
I was born in Los Angeles, California; lived in Ojai, California for thirty years where I raised my son. I moved to Santa Barbara in 2005 and stayed there for the past twelve years. I have created artwork in many forms throughout my life, and learned to work with metal and stone at the Wake Center in Santa Barbara. I have recently returned to Ojai to care for my mother who turned 102 years young this past May 2018. Now that my mother has passed along to her next adventure, I am picking up where I left off a year and a half ago. I have recently set up my studio and am beginning to work on new projects. Stay tuned!
My passion is to create beautiful objects of perennial beauty, well made and worthy to be handed down to future generations. I hope to encourage others to see the inherent beauty of the world and respect its perishable nature.
I am starting to plan shows for the remainder of 2018. I will post them as I sign up and know what I am doing.
